About me

I moved to Yucca Valley in 1976 to accept a job as the Recreation Supervisor for the Yucca Valley Parks and Recreation District. What I thought would be a 2 or 3-year stay turned in to a serious long-term affection for the high desert and our small-town lifestyle.

I have been actively involved and worked with many local organizations throughout the years, including leadership positions with the Yucca Valley Jaycees, Tri-Valley Little League, Morongo Basin Youth Soccer Association, Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, the Rotary Club of Yucca Valley, YVHS Career Pathways Foundation, Lincoln Club of the Morongo Basin, Basin Wide Foundation and others.

I worked as the Town of Yucca Valley’s Community Services Director for nearly 21 years. As a department head, I was able to participate in the development of our local government structure and also to work with many community groups, organizations and individuals to bring about activities, events and community improvements.

I retired from the Town in 2013 and shortly thereafter accepted a part-time Field Representative position with State Senator Jean Fuller. I am also a licensed real estate agent and stay busy running golf tournaments and volunteering with the Hawk’s Landing Junior Golf program.

I am a Christian, a patriot, and am generally to the right of center politically. I am a US Navy veteran and the proud parent of five, including a US Marine Corps veteran. I have been married to Dawn for 30 years. We have six grandchildren and we enjoy golf, hiking, and extended weekends meeting up with our grown children and their families.
